Demonstrators gather in Berlin for torchlight march for Palestinians

(MENAFN) Protesters in Berlin staged a torchlight march on Tuesday to express solidarity with Palestinians and denounce ongoing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.

The demonstration began at Hohenstaufen Square in the Kreuzberg district, with participants carrying lanterns and candles as they proceeded toward the Hallesches Tor subway station. Many marched with Palestinian flags, chanting slogans such as “Terrorist Israel” and “freedom for Palestine.”

Participants also voiced criticism of the German government, condemning its support for Israel.
Since October 2023, Israeli attacks on Gaza have reportedly resulted in nearly 70,700 deaths, primarily women and children, and caused injuries to more than 171,000 people, leaving much of the territory devastated.
